INCREDIBLY RARE LOW-LEVEL SNOW TAKES AUSSIE FORECASTERS BY SURPRISE — GRAND SOLAR MINIMUM
Australia has been impacted by extensive cooling this week which combined with moisture to bring “surprise” low-level snow to the Great Dividing range in New South Wales.
Caused by a cold front that crossed NSW on Monday, a stream of frigid south-easterlies blew over the ranges through Monday night. Extensive snow accumulated at low levels, snow which Australia’s Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) simply had not forecast.
