Antarctic blasts hits Australia TODAY bringing freezing temperatures, gale-force winds and heavy rain – and it’s only going to get worse.

South Australia will be the first state to be hit with a ‘pulse of polar air’.
Western Tasmania in particular will be expected to be battered with 150mm.
Extreme gale force winds in excess of 90km/h will sweep South Australia.
Temperatures in Canberra will plunge to -4C with a maximum of just 10C.
