RECORD-SETTING COLD INVADES CENTRAL RUSSIA.

While northern regions were enjoying the remnants of summer heat –with temperatures some 4C above the norm– their southern counterparts were busy shivering through record-setting cold: this setup serves as a further example of how the Arctic cold shifting south and also of how a weak and wavy (meridional) jet stream flow –associated with the historically low solar activity we’re currently experiencing– is disrupting our weather patterns.
