Denver, the capital of Colorado, is suffering one of its coldest Mays on record, based on preliminary temperature data courtesy of the National Weather Service.

Through Sunday, May 26, the monthly average temperature at Denver International Airport, where official observations are kept, was just 10.6C (51F) — that’s more than 5F below the norm.
