Australia’s ski resorts have been coated in thick layers of fresh snow overnight in the first of multiple cold blasts of air froze the country’s south-east.
After above average temperatures were recorded in most parts of the nation during the first four months of the year, followed by an unusually warm start to May, temperatures have plummeted in many areas.
