Heavy unseasonable SNOW has disrupted life across the northern Indian states of Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, with many roads, schools, and businesses forced to close.

In the district of Lahaul-Spiti distric, the administrative centre of Keylong received over 20cm (7.9 inches) of snow, while the Baralacha La pass –located along the Manali-Leh highway– has seen totals exceed 45cm (17.7 inches) over the past 24 hours alone, according to
